Heya,

My name is Amy Sage, but many of you may know me as Cynthe, and I’d like to start off my first Comments from the Team by saying that I feel extremely lucky to be considered a part of ORIGIN. For quite some time now I've been Community Coordinator for ORIGIN, which means that I’ve been in charge of our community schedule. This includes website updates, interviews with fansites, IRC chats, screenshot distribution, board moderation, etc. I also manage the interactions between the development team and the fansites… basically, I get to talk a lot and get paid for it. :)

So why do I feel so lucky? Well, it’s hard work when you’re building continents, designing game systems, or creating new and exciting art for the game. My job’s a little different… I get to sit back and marvel every time I see something new from the team come across my desk, and I then I get to talk about it as if I had something to do with it. Jobs don’t get much better than that!

If someone had told me 5 years ago what I’d be doing, I would have never believed them. I attended the University of Texas at Austin (go Longhorns!) as an English major with a German minor, and I’ve always loved writing. I also love to play games. My dream job would be one that combined those two pastimes, but everyone knows those kind of jobs don’t really exist. Or do they?

I started at Origin in fall of 1998, working with the Ultima: Ascension team. Once my work with Ascension was complete and just as ORIGIN was starting to be really visible in the public eye, I joined the ORIGIN team as Community Coordinator. After reading all the past website updates, the prequel fiction, and talking with the dev team, I became extremely excited about the idea of being a spokesperson for such an incredible game!

Some of you may have noticed I was absent from late May though August… I took a maternity leave during that point (real life has a way of taking over at times). But Usul, now the Online Testing Coordinator, stepped in to fill my shoes while I was gone, and the ORIGIN train continued forward. Now that I've been back for a couple months, things are really picking up speed, and it’s quite a thrill! Screenshots are being released, more information is available, my interview schedule is full through February, and the official boards are off to a great start.

Another Community Coordinator, GBob, has been brought in recently to make our community team even stronger, especially since I may find my time more consumed by website updates in the next several months. On this note, my title as Community Coordinator may be short-lived as he steps in to take over more of the community duties, and I transition to Website Content Editor. More on this later. :)

For now, that’s all about me, and I look forward to continuing to see your thoughts and ideas on the various boards and mailing lists. Keep checking this site for the newest information and some really exciting changes, and you can expect to meet many new members of the team through our Team Comments over the next several months. We have a great group working behind this game, and it is my hope to introduce many of them to you in a more personal manner by letting them speak about themselves and ORIGIN here!
